• What about the Arabs’ natural growth?

• Israel ’wantonly destroyed Gaza’

  Israel inflicted "wanton destruction" in the Gaza Strip during its 22-day war on the coastal enclave in December and January, Amnesty International, the London-based human rights group has said.
  In a 117-page report released on Thursday, Amnesty cited evidence that Israeli troops put children and other civilians in harm’s way "by forcing them to remain in or near houses which they took over and used as military positions".

  Amnesty International a publié jeudi un rapport accablant sur l’offensive israélienne à Gaza de décembre-janvier, accusant à la fois Israël et le groupe palestinien Hamas de "crimes de guerre".

• Israel agrees to take action on settlement activity

  Defense Minister Ehud Barak and U.S. special Mideast envoy George Mitchell agreed during their talks in New York this week that Israel must take action toward easing access for Palestinians in the West Bank and halting settlement activity.
  Their four-hour discussion brought Israel and the United States closer to ending its dispute over settlement construction, a source close to Barak said.

• Barak Approves More Settlement Units Before Heading To Talk “Peace” in Washington

  Hours before he took off to Washington for talks with the US administration on peace and settlements, Israeli Army Minister, Ehud Barak, approved the construction of a new settlement in the so-called Benyamin region.
  The approval came as part of a deal with the settlers who were evacuated from the illegal Migron settlement outpost.
  The settlers would move into a new settlement of 250 houses after they evacuate their outpost built on privately owned Palestinian land.

• Des Palestiniens forcés de démolir eux-mêmes leur maison à Jérusalem-Est

  « Vous voulez qu’on détruise notre maison et qu’en plus on paie pour ça ? » Fatima Ghosheh est révoltée. Forcée de détruire sa maison à Jérusalem-Est, elle doit en plus en financer la démolition. « Ils sont venus à 7h du matin pour démolir », raconte à l’AFP cette mère de quatre enfants. « On leur a dit qu’on préférait le faire nous-mêmes.
