  • Arab nations submit draft UN resolution condemning Israeli settlements

    Arab nations have submitted a draft resolution to the UN Security Council condemning Israeli settlements in the West Bank, but a vote on it is not expected any time soon because of a likely U.S. veto, diplomats said on Wednesday.
    Israel’s UN representative Meron Reuven said he would be absent from the meeting at which the resolution was submitted due to the Foreign Ministry strike.

    Une résolution condamnant la colonisation israélienne devrait être formellement déposée, mardi 18 janvier, par le Liban – au nom des pays arabes –, au Conseil de sécurité de l’ONU.   • Israel demolishes historic hotel

    Bulldozers have demolished a hotel in east Jerusalem to make way for a new Israeli settlement, the latest in a wave of new buildings globally seen as an obstacle to the now stalled peace process.
    The Shepherd Hotel was razed by three Israeli bulldozers, early on Sunday, as part of a plan to build a new settlement of 20 units in the heart of the occupied city.

  • Après le Brésil, l’Argentine reconnaît la Palestine

    La présidente argentine, Cristina Kirchner, a écrit à son homologue palestinien, Mahmoud Abbas, pour lui annoncer que son pays "reconnaît la Palestine comme un Etat libre et indépendant à l’intérieur des frontières de 1967", a annoncé, lundi 6 décembre, le chef de la diplomatie argentine, Hector Timerman.     اسرائيل سوقت ما يسمى مدينة داود كموروث حضاري للشعب ليس له حضارة مكتسبة عبر الطبقات الارضية في القدس.
    على مدى قرنيين من الزمن والحفريات الاثرية التي تجري في كل من القدس وفلسطين كشفت عن حضارات ما قبل التاريخ وعصوره، وكشفت عن انماط معمارية وحضارية تعود للعصر الحجري المقتدم والمتأخر والعصور البرنزية المتقدمة والمتوسطة والمتأخرة ، وكذلك العصر الكلاسيكي.
    كل من الحفريات والابحاث لم تقدم ادلة اثرية علمية تدل على وجود نمط حضاري الى فترة العصر الحديدي، غير ان التداخل الذي يدل على ان الحضارة (...)

    Since there are now three conflicts in the greater Middle East; Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel/"Palestine" and maybe another Lebanese war in the offing, it might be a good idea to take a look at the cost of war.
